Inspiration comes from a multitude of sources. This summer it was Positano.
I can't think of a more beautiful, restful, exquisite place to push reset and realize how lucky and blessed I am. We stayed at The Villa Treville, a hotel that used to be the private home of Franco Zeffirelli, Italy's famous opera and film director. Here he would entertain film stars, writers, musicians, painters and intellectuals from all of the world.
The food was impeccable, the views serene, and the colors surreal and vibrant. Look at that bougainvillea! The sea was so clear and warm, worthy of a dip or two each day. The terraced gardens offered the perfect amount of shade throughout the day.
We would walk down the hill into the old town to shop for exclusive "findings". There is an amazing hike directly across from the hotel, a few thousand steps straight up, that nearly killed us on our first afternoon in stifling heat...better to walk up early for that one next time! Our best time was spent reading directly outside of our room, overlooking the sea where boats came and moored daily.
Positano stole my heart.
