    Details

    The ancient art of hand block printing textiles has been practiced in India for over 800 years. Highly skilled artisans carve wooden blocks to emulate our hand sketched artwork and color masters then mix the colors to match our palettes. Each color pattern is then stamped repeatedly across the fabric meticulously attending to the details of each design. Between each stamped layer, each item is washed to set the dye. Once each layer has been stamped and washed, the textiles are hung to try in the Indian sun. The slight human irregularities, inevitable in handwork, create the unique artistic effect emblematic of block prints. Expect subtle color changes due to the nature of this hand crafting process.
